NCEL - DURHAM MAN WINS "$200,000 JACKPOT" TOP PRIZE
-Powerball Jackpot Rolls to an Estimated $150 Million!-
-"Carolina Cash 5" Rolls to an Estimated Top Prize of $242,000-
RALEIGH - A trip to get gas for his lawn mower made Brian Prier of Durham the latest "$200,000 Jackpot" top prize winner. Prier stopped by Etna #3162 on Holloway Street in Durham to get some gas, and while paying he decided to buy a "$200,000 Jackpot" instant scratch-off ticket.

Once back at home, he scratched off the ticket and says he didn't think it was real when the ticket revealed that it was worth $200,000, which was $136,001.60 after taxes. He put the ticket down and then mowed his lawn before driving to the North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) headquarters in Raleigh to claim his prize. Prier says he will use part of his winnings to visit family in Louisiana.

The Powerball jackpot continues to roll. The jackpot for the Saturday, May 16 Powerball drawing is an estimated $150 million!

Two North Carolina tickets in last night's Powerball drawing matched four out of five white balls plus the Powerball. One of the two tickets was Power Played and is worth $30,000 since the Power Play multiplier was three. The ticket was sold at Lowe's Foods #162 on Tryon Road in Cary.

The other ticket that matched four out of five white balls plus the Powerball was not Power Played and is worth $10,000. The ticket was sold at Lowe's Foods #190 on High House Road in Cary.

A total of 44,650 North Carolina Powerball players won prizes in the Wednesday, May 13 Powerball drawing, ranging from $30,000 down to $3 for a total payout in prizes worth $357,443.

The "Carolina Cash 5" top prize also continues to roll. The estimated top prize for tonight's drawing is $242,000! A player must match all five numbers drawn to win the top prize.

The NCEL has paid out more than $4.1 million total in instant scratch-off ticket prizes since Monday, May 11. Also since Monday, "Carolina Cash 5" players have won more than $97,000. "Carolina Pick 4" players have won more than $380,000, and 16 tickets were sold that won the top prize of $5,000. "Carolina Pick 3" players have won more than $685,000.
