Howell and his wife drove to North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) headquarters on his birthday to make sure what he was seeing on the ticket was real. NCEL officials confirmed he had indeed won the vehicle. “This is a great way to celebrate my birthday,” Howell said. Today, Alice Garland, NCEL deputy executive director, congratulated Howell and gave him the keys during a celebratory event at New Dixie #21 on 179 Old Farm Rd in Roanoke Rapids where Howell had purchased his winning ticket. Mustang Fever is a $5 instant scratch-off ticket that not only features a total of six prizes of a 2010 Ford Mustang V6 convertible, but it also had a total of six top prizes of $100,000! There are two of those remaining as of this morning. Players have one more chance to scratch, match and win one of the Ford Mustang V6 convertibles instantly. They may also enter non-winning Mustang Fever tickets into the two remaining second chance drawings. The drawing deadline for the Nov. 5 drawing is Oct. 29. The NCEL will also award over 400 Ford Mustang merchandise prize packs in each of the drawings.
