-"Carolina Cash 5" Top Prize Hit in Winston-Salem and Wilmington-
RALEIGH - Someone is holding a Powerball ticket worth $200,000! The ticket for the Nov. 14 Powerball drawing matched all five numbers drawn and was sold at the Kangaroo Express on Rosehill Road in Fayetteville. It has yet to be claimed.

Another ticket in the same drawing matched four out of five white balls plus the Powerball and was Power Played. The ticket is worth $50,000 since the Power Play multiplier was five. It was sold at the Scotchman on River Road in Belville.

For Edward Speed of Hope Mills, “Wooooooo!” is his lucky game. He bought an instant scratch-off ticket at the Kangaroo Express on Rockfish Road in Fayetteville and says he took it home to scratch it off later. While watching television, he says he saw the North Carolina Education Lottery’s commercial featuring Ric Flair and it reminded him that he hadn’t scratched it off yet. He says he got out the ticket, scratched it, and found out that his ticket was worth $100,000 ($68,001.60 after taxes)!

Speed says he will use some of his winnings to take a family vacation to Disney World. He also wants to sponsor a family or two at Christmas to give back to the community.

The “Carolina Cash 5” top prize was hit for the third time last week. One ticket in the Nov. 14 “Carolina Cash 5” drawing matched all five numbers drawn to win the $81,602 top prize. The ticket was sold at Akron Market on North Glenn Street in Winston-Salem.

One ticket in the Nov. 12 “Carolina Cash 5” drawing matched all five numbers drawn to win the $70,067 top prize. The ticket was sold at Reserve Food Mart on Market Street in Wilmington. Both tickets have been claimed and the winner information is provided below.

One ticket in the Nov. 10 “Carolina Cash 5” drawing matched all five numbers drawn to win the $92,909 top prize. The ticket was sold at Wilco on Louisburg Road in Raleigh and has yet to be claimed.

A total of 36,228 North Carolina Powerball players won prizes in the Saturday, Nov. 14 Powerball drawing ranging from $200,000 to $3 for a total payout in prizes worth $606,211. No one matched all five white balls plus the Powerball to win the jackpot, so the jackpot for the Wednesday, Nov. 18 Powerball drawing is an estimated $25 million.

The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) has paid out more than $6.8 million total in instant scratch-off ticket prizes since Thursday, Nov. 12. Also since Thursday, “Carolina Pick 3” players have won more than $960,000. “Carolina Pick 4” players have won more than $356,000 and 18 tickets won the top prize of $5,000. “Carolina Cash 5” players have won more than $262,000.
