And already in 2010, two “Carolina Cash 5” tickets have matched all five numbers to win the top prize! One ticket, worth $300,766 in the Saturday Jan. 2 drawing, was sold at the Food Lion on Hope Valley Road in Durham. Another ticket won the top prize of $50,000 in the Sunday Jan. 3 drawing. It was sold at the Grab N Go on Bessemer City Road in Gastonia. The Saturday Jan. 2 Powerball drawing yielded five big-winning tickets that were sold in NC! One ticket matched all five white balls making it worth $200,000. It was sold at the Food Lion on Brian Jordan Place in High Point. Two Power-Played tickets are worth $30,000 after each matched four white balls and the Powerball. Since the Power Play multiplier for the drawing was a 3, those Power Played tickets that normally would have been worth $10,000 were tripled. They were sold at the Fast & Fresh Food Store on Lenoir Rhyne Boulevard in Hickory and the Food Lion on Faith Road in Salisbury. Two $10,000 tickets matched four white balls and the Powerball, but were not Power-Played. They were sold at the Ramseur BP on Jordan Road in Ramseur (Randolph County) and the Cornelius BP on Statesville Road in Cornelius (Mecklenburg County). A total of 33,971 North Carolina Powerball players won prizes in the Saturday, Jan. 2 Powerball drawing ranging from $3 to $200,000 for a total payout in prizes worth $546,476. Because a ticket sold in Arkansas matched all five white balls and the Powerball, the jackpot for the Wednesday, Jan. 6 Powerball drawing is $20 million. The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) has paid out over $5.9 million total in instant scratch-off ticket prizes since Thursday, Dec. 31. Also since Thursday, “Carolina Pick 3” players have won over $1.2 million. “Carolina Pick 4” players have won nearly than $300,000 and 8 tickets won the top prize of $5,000. “Carolina Cash 5” players have won over $519,000.
