NCEL - FAYETTEVILLE MAN WINS $131,760 PLAYING "CAROLINA CASH 5" -"Carolina Cash 5" ticket worth $120,031 sold in Charlotte-
RALEIGH - Albert Haley of Fayetteville will soon be riding in a new truck thanks to the $131,760 he won in the “Carolina Cash 5” drawing on March 4. Haley says he’s “planning to buy a new truck” with the $89,597.12 he will receive after taxes. He purchased his ticket from Hardin’s Food Store on Phillipi Church Road in Raeford.

Other “Carolina Cash 5” players and PowerBall players need to check their tickets. A “Carolina Cash 5” ticket, this one worth $120,031, matched all five balls in last night’s drawing. The winning ticket was purchased at the City Mart on Village Lake Drive in Charlotte.

And no winner has stepped forward yet to claim $20,000 for a PowerBall ticket from the March 6 drawing. It was purchased at Joyland Family Fare #315 on Holloway Street in Durham. This ticket matched the four white balls and the Powerball and was Power Played. Since the Power Play multiplier for that drawing was two, the normal prize of $10,000 was doubled.

A total of 42,472 North Carolina Powerball players won prizes in the Saturday, March 6 drawing ranging from $3 to $20,000 for a total payout in prizes worth $250,786. Because no tickets matched all five white balls and the Powerball, the jackpot for the Wednesday, March 10 drawing is an estimated $170 million.

A total of 15,277 North Carolina Mega Millions players won prizes in the Friday, March 5 drawing ranging from $2 to $600 for a total payout in prizes worth $114,746. Because one ticket in California matched all five white balls and the Mega Ball, the jackpot for the Tuesday, March 9 drawing is an estimated $12 million.

The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) has paid out over $6.7 million total in instant scratch-off ticket prizes since Thursday, March 4. Also since Thursday, “Carolina Pick 3” players have won over $2 million, “Carolina Pick 4” players have won more than $288,000 and 10 tickets won the top prize of $5,000. “Carolina Cash 5” players have won over $380,975.
