Kick off New Year with Pick 4 'More Money Mondays'

What's your favorite day of the week? If you're a Pick 4 player, before you answer, here's something you want to know: Every Monday in January, Pick 4 prizes are increased by 40 percent.

Thanks to the Pick 4 More Money Mondays promotion, that means for every Monday afternoon or evening drawing, the top prize on a $1 play climbs from $5,000 to $7,000.

And all other prize levels increase by 40 percent as well. For example, a $1 "Any" play on a 4-way number usually wins $600. But on More Money Mondays, it wins $840. It applies to Front Pair/Back Pair and 1-OFF, too.

Any Pick 4 ticket purchased starting in January for a drawing held on a Monday in January - and there are five Mondays in the month of January 2017 - will have prizes increased. As always, prizes must be claimed within 180 days of a drawing.

have been entering the Ultimate Millions and the Extreme Millions in the Lucky Rewards, sometimes I enter a winning ticket prior to cashing it in, but sometimes I forget until I get to the store. When I realize I hadn't entered the ticket, I'll write the number down to enter when I return home. Lately I've noticed the ticket is rejected because another player has entered the ticket. What is going on?******** It's obvious someone behind the counter is scanning the ticket to enter a 2nd chance drawing. If you suspect that, report the store to NCEL security. You might have to sacrifice a few entries and run a sting operation of your own. Write down the numbers, (front & back). When you enter them at home & it says "another player has already submitted", then call the security hotline & give them the info. They need EXACT info to bust @##$$%%@# people like that.

The odds of winning a prize in a second-chance or Lucke-Rewards drawing depend 100% on the total number of entries made, something that is not known until the entry deadline comes. You are always welcome to ask here how many entries have been made in a particular drawing and we'll give you the most recent number that we have. The name of a winner in a particular drawing can be announced only after he or she has responded to notification and completed the claim process. That can take days or weeks. We notify winners within 48 hours of the draw date.

We don't have enough information to know exactly what happened, but it's possible someone else entered the ticket for rewards points after you cashed it in for the prize. Our recommendation is that you enter winning tickets for rewards points before cashing them in, because once the ticket is no longer in your possession, you are no longer in control of who could enter it for points.

Like playing the lottery, how many points a ticket is worth is a matter of luck. Here’s how it works. Draw tickets are worth between one and five times the ticket price in reward points. So a $2 draw ticket is worth between 2 and 10 points. Instant tickets are worth between one and 10 times the ticket price in reward points. That makes a $5 instant ticket worth between 5 and 50 points.

NCEL, I put those 2 tickets in the mail this morning with the $2.00 prize on them both. No there was no multiplier nor anything else. I remember in the past someone sending same message to you all and I do not feel I or the other person has received a logical answer to the question--why is there $2.00 on a $20.00 ticket. Like I said I sent them out this morning and you should receive them by Thursday. Please look at them and if this is a printing error then whoever does this needs to be corrected on this. So if you saw a $2 amount, then there must have been a multiplier or other prizes on the ticket that would have made the total prize value of the ticket worth at least $20. No, I do not have those two tickets but guess what, now I have two $4,000,000 platinum payout tickets with $2.00 on them. Ticket number 4305100519 with 519-081520-012 and 91059802-4717, also number 519-081520-011 with 519-081520-011 and 84772289-0464 and all I want to know is why is $2.00 on a $20.00 ticket? It was not a winner but still it should not be on these tickets. If there was supposed to be a multiplier then where is it? This needs to be investigated by someone because this really made me mad and I had read about this before. I apologize if it seemed I was being nasty but if you play the lottery like my husband and I do you would be upset too. I will be sending these tickets to you all in the mail soon, once I log them in I throw them away but I had just finished with my tickets. I received a stack of 60 $5 Christmas tickets as a gift. The biggest winner out of the stack was one $30 winner. Two won $20 and the rest were $5 and $10 winners. On New Years Day, I decided to try my luck one last time. Spent over $150 on tickets and did not win over $15 on nothing. Most were breakeven or losers. I give up! I'm not wasting any more of my hard earned money on the NOEL!

I was trying to search a pick four number and noticed how the system has changed. It only brings up the number as you have put it in for past drawings such as(6352) only gives you past winning results for (6352) not all combinations. If there was a $2 prize amount shown, then there must have been a multiplier feature on the game that would have multiplied the win to at least $20. And we do our best to respond with information that might be helpful. If you want to know how much was paid out in prizes in a given week, just ask. We found that information was of less interest to players than the winner stories themselves. But last week players won $24.1 million in prizes. All comments must be reviewed prior to being published to ensure there is no vulgar language or rude comments directed at other players, and so that we can provide a response if needed. We were not involved in the decision to create the lottery or decide where the money goes. If you would like to see that changed, you should reach out to the elected officials in state government who make those decisions. The game is almost completely sold out. As you can see on the game's page on our website, most of the prizes have been claimed. For example, there are just two $2,000 prizes remaining, and the game started with 388 of them! We need to have unlimited ticket entries. I save all of my tickets so I have a box full. i have 9 months of expired tickets in my box. I work long hours therefore I don't have time everyday to scan tickets. 75 is better than 30 but unlimited would be nice OR at least up it to 500 or so. If we didn't play then there would be NO LOTTERY here. So it should be all about US. I also feel like there should be more and higher prizes to win for the LUCKE-ZONE Members. 1 million dollars in a second chance drawing is good but that is only for the 30 dollar tickets. Everyone can't afford to spend 30 dollars on a ticket. I am just saying... There are other states with better second chance prizes than NC. Surely NC can step it up a few notches.

I could not believe my eyes when my husband brought home 3 tickets this afternoon. Two were 4,000,000 multiplier spectacular and one was the 4,000,000 platinum payout. The eye-opener was when I scratched off the number 11 and under it was a win of $2.00 and then the number 48 with a win of $2.00. Needless to say I did not have those numbers as winners and I did not win anything on any of the three tickets, but I want to know what the crap is up with $2.00 being on a $20.00 ticket. If I had won this with a ticket of $2.00 I would have come to headquarters and shoved it all the way up where the sun does not shine. This IS NOT FAIR OR legitimate is it and yall are a bunch of crooks!!!!!!!!!NC Lottery

Yes. By law the lottery is required to withhold required state and federal taxes on claims of $600 or more. Prizes up to $599 can be cashed in at a lottery retailer. Frequently a grocery store is a good place to get a larger prize up to $599 because they have more cash on hand than many other types of stores.

If the NCEL is giving millions to the education system then why are so many teachers still buying items the students need in the classroom. When I was a child in school my folks had to buy paper, pencils, notebooks and so on, what is going on with all this? I really think every Indian tribe here in N.C. should be able to have a casino on their property then maybe it might put the hurt on the NCEL since it is putting the hurt on all of us who are buying these horrible tickets and not winning nothing but the cost of the ticket back on about the eighth ticket. Do you guys go and buy any to see what so many of these legitimate complaints are about on these scratch tickets. I would rather play in Va.NC Lottery

Ncel really needs to quit touting their repeated contributions to the education budget of 634 million when it only represents apprx 5% of the total 12.7 billion allotted for 2017. My suggestion to you would be to increase the payout to the players and decrease the amount paid to the state and stop using the guise of supporting education as to the lottery existence. This would surely insure that you and the lottery players will be around 10 years from now.NC Lottery

Georgia Lottery offers online "DIGGI Games" for cash prizes, and also they sell "Print and Play" games which can be purchased at lottery retailers. These games are great fun to play and win!! We've had a $20,000 Powerball winner and a $15,000 Mega Millions winner through subscription purchases. It's not easier or harder to win depending if you buy online or at a store, the odds are always the same. It's just that the number of subscription players is very, very small compared to the vast amount of tickets that are sold in stores. Good luck!

I like this promo, like my motto "KISS". Nothing extra for the buyer or seller to do , or no extra cost. You just have to be lucky enough to pick the numbers or match a QP. If you do not understand the games, just go back to the NCEL main page & click on games, click which ever one you want, then click "how to play" for all the info you need. The NCEL main page has so much info for players if you just take the time to click here , click there, click every where. You will be surprised with the answers you can find quicker then waiting for some one else to do your research for you.

I spent $40 one on extreme millions and 2 mega fortune,I was sckeptible only wanted to at least win my money back and I ended up winning absolutely nothing ,$40 gone in one pop.Ive never spent that much one time on tics and never will again ????I could not believe I couldn't st least win something on the $30 tic ,what disappointment.You will go bankrupt playing so maybe we all can win our money back someday NC Lottery

Prize money comes from non-winning tickets. The lottery does not keep its profits. We paid out $1.5 billion in prizes last year and raised $634 million for education. It always takes luck to win a prize on a lottery ticket, big or small. We have been reading your comments for many months and it sounds like you are not having fun playing. You have changed the algorithm on $10,20,30 dollar tickets to where I buy as many as 10 tickets in a row without a winner and do it all the time! This is wrong and I don't see how it is still legal! I've played for 8 years and I have seen the change. You used to never go many tickets on the $10 and up without winning something.now it is the norm! That is the fastest way to notify tech support that there could be a more widespread issue with the site or the app. And if there is not a more widespread issue, perhaps they can help you resolve whatever is going on with your device.

The new pick 4 promotion seems to have come at a time when so many players have been looking forward to the quads coming out by years end (2016). Is this promotion really a promotion to distract all of us players who have been playing quads all year long to continue to just spend money continuing to play with very few payouts? We love it when popular numbers are drawn and players win lots of money because it makes players happy. But we have strict rules in place to ensure that every set of numbers, regardless of popularity, has exactly the same chance of being drawn in every drawing. Regardless of past draw results, there is always a 1 in 1,000 chance that one of the 10 "quads" will be drawn from among the 10,000 possible winning combinations :-)

Because 10 of the possible 10,000 winning number combinations in a Pick 4 drawing are "quads," the chances of one of those 10 numbers being the winning combination in a drawing are always 1 in 1,000. That means that, statistically, you would expect to see one of the 10 "quads" about once every 1,000 drawings. But, because the results of previous drawings do not affect the odds of subsequent drawings, there's always a 1 in 1,000 chance that one of the 10 "quads" will be the winning numbers in an isolated, random drawing. There are 730 Pick 4 drawings a year (732 in a leap year). We'd love to see a "quad" be drawn, but the lottery follows strict security procedures to ensure that every set of numbers has the exact same chance of coming up in every drawing.

There seems to 2b a bit of confusion. On a previous blog , a player asked, when was the 2nd chance drawings for 2day, LZ answered "no set time" There is NO 2nd chance drawing this week , only one drawing for the weekly "rewards drawing" of one winner. I asked what was the number of entries for the four "active" 2nd chance drawings. I was only given the entry numbers for 2 of them & the weekly & monthly "lucky rewards drawings". To the player that said , I have x amount of entries what are my chances of winning? Just like the rest of us, slim to very slim. Chances of winning if you don't play or enter- NONE !! I have more then a few in all six. It's all about the luck of the draw buttercup. I for one am looking forward to 2017, winning big and the changes to the Luckezone.

so if i play pick 4 ANY and the numbers come out in any order but match up its 600?I always played 50/50 thinking its alot like on pick 3 but found out for first time last week it was only 100 i was so dissapointed,happy for 100 but thought was moreNC Lottery
Thanks for the opportunity to clarify. In Pick 4, if you place a $.50 wager on a 24-Way "ANY" number, the prize is $100. On a $.50 wager, the 4-way "ANY" prize is $600. We'll update the blog to make that more clear.
