Lottery players in the Wilmington area looking to claim a big prize will pick up their checks in a new location in Wilmington beginning Monday, Dec. 11.
The new regional office will be located at: 123 North Cardinal Extension Drive, Suite 140
Wilmington N.C. 28405.
Operations at Market Station, 5214 Market Street, in Wilmington will end today, Thursday, at 5 p.m., so the move can be made on Friday. The new office will open at 9 a.m. on Monday.
The office is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m.
Lottery winners can always collect prizes up to $599 at their favorite lottery retail locations. But they must visit a regional office and claims center to collect prizes between the amounts of $600 and $99,999. Prizes of $100,000 or more must be claimed at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
The offices are also used by the lottery’s sale staff that work in the region and to provide training to retailers who sell lottery tickets in the area.
The Wilmington office is one of six regional offices operated by the Education Lottery. The others are located in Asheville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro and Greenville.
