Pender County man passes ‘Go’, collects top Monopoly Frenzy! prize

Rob Ballard of Hampstead became on Wednesday the second North Carolinian to collect the top prize in the new Monopoly Frenzy! game.

Ballard’s good luck came with a $5 ticket purchased at Sloop Point Country Store in Hampstead. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $141,501. Two more top prizes remain to be claimed in the game.

Ticket sales from games like Monopoly Frenzy! help the lottery raise more than $650 million a year for education. For details on how $4 million in lottery funds made a difference in Pender County, click on the “Impact” section of the lottery’s website, https://www.nclottery.com.

So happy for you Rob. I quit any scratch offs never win so I quit donating. My husband still does a little, very little. I think on these second chance drawings they should do away with them and use this money to put more on the scratch off tics. Just my opinion, but I am definitely finished, GOOD-BYE NCEL.
