We love celebrating with our winners and sharing their stories of good luck. The excitement is contagious. We want to show you how one family reacted when they found out they won $20,000.
Tyrone Jones’ good fortune happened when he stopped at the Speedway on West Academy Street in Robersonville and bought a $2 Neon 7’s scratch-off ticket.
“I scratched the ticket and was like, ‘Look at all those zeros,’” Jones said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
Jones immediately called his daughter to share the good news.
“I almost fainted,” his daughter Jaliasa said. “I called my sister up and was like, ‘Our dad just hit the lottery.’ She told me to stop lying to her.”
The family claimed their prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. Jones said he plans to use the money to “live.”
“I never thought I’d make it to the winner’s room,” Jones said. “People have told me about it, but I never thought I’d see it. This is incredible!”
A big congratulations to the Jones family. We couldn’t be happier for them!
