Edgecombe County man celebrates $1 million lottery win

Timothy Bridgers of Tarboro is celebrating his good fortune after he won a $1 million lottery prize.

Bridgers bought the winning $5,000 Loaded scratch-off ticket when he went to Midway Grocery on N.C. 43 North in Rocky Mount.

He claimed his prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. Bridgers had the choice of taking a $1 million annuity that has 20 payments of $50,000 a year or a lump sum of $600,000. He chose the lump sum. After federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $424,503.

The $10 ticket launched in May with four top prizes of $1 million. Two $1 million prizes remain.

What Jim B is stating is if he takes 200 of his Lucke Reward points and enters a 10 point drawing all at once, this will give him 20 entries! Will he get 1 RNG for all 20 entries, or 20 RNG's 1 for each one? NC Lottery
Thanks for clarifying, Danny. If you were to submit 20 entries for a drawing, the RNG would assign your entries 20 individual numbers when picking winners. However, you will only receive one "order" or "confirmation" number in the email when you submit the entries.

I think the question is...if you enter a drawing and the drawing is 20 point per entry..you decide to enter 5 times (# of entries at one time) this will cost 100 points..will I receive 5 different RNG numbers NC Lottery
Hey Angie! That's right. Each entry is assigned its own number when the RNG picks the winners.

@Tiffany's question. I may be a little slow in the understanding department,but if make a 20 entry choice on a second chance entry at 1 shot do I receive I RNG number or 20 different RNG numbers? I would really hate to make multiple entries (20) and go thru the e-mail deletion process. Thanks.NC Lottery
Hi Jim, when you enter tickets in Lucke-Rewards you receive points. You can then use these points to enter drawings. For example you might need 10 points to enter a drawing. You'll receive one entry into that particular drawing for your 10 points. Hope that answers your question. Good luck to you!

How do you know when entering multiple luck rewards points that each one is assigned a code.On the email I get it only gives me one code when I put in multiple points. Should I enter them individually.NC Lottery
When a player trades in points for entries to a drawing, the batch of entries, whether it is one or more, is assigned a single entry number. Think of it like an order number that you receive when buying several items online at one time in one cart. The entry number does not affect a player’s drawing entries in any way. As long as you see the correct number of entries and the correct number of points deducted, all is well.

I think something the lottery should do is show a picture of the winning ticket along with the story. Would make the article more interesting with the pic of the winning ticket, who agrees? NC Lottery
