Pitt County man wins $200,000 prize

Shelbert Black of Greenville is celebrating after winning the top prize of $200,000 in the new Power 5’s game.

Black’s good luck happened when he stopped at Sadler Travel Store on Sadler Road in Dunn and bought one of the $5 scratch-offs. He claimed his prize Friday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $141,501.

The Power 5’s game began this month with five top prizes of $200,000. Four top prizes remain.

Re: 20XCash tickets old and new John A makes a good point about this ticket looking so similar to the old one. It would help if the design was changed a bit more to distinguish it from older tickets. A different font and different color background.

LoL. I love duplicate numbers. Whether online or in store. Every time a get tickets with a few duplicate numbers i win twice as much.

The 'pattern' is never more evident than in the Pick 3. Want proof? Just look at Friday's drawings. That afternoon it was 521. That night it was 152. HUH?! And this is just a sample of the Pick 3. Numbers mirror, they repeat, they flip-flop. Don't believe me? Just study it some. Sometimes it even works to your advantage. I've had more luck with Pick 3 than anything else.

The scratch off group I'm in buys a book of scratch offs twice a month. Recently we decided to go with the new PAY ME scratch off. Total winnings back was $115.00 with the highest winner being only $20.00. Now THAT is the reason why people are fed up with NCEL!!

If you see a "pattern" it’s not likely to continue in the future simply because it’s not really a “pattern”, it’s just random results playing out over time. It’s always a matter of pure luck. The old 20x ticket looks just like the new 20x ticket. How do we know we are buying the new one and not the old one with most of the prizes gone? NC Lottery
Hey John, that's a fair comment. The new one has a different game number (#628) and has a slightly different design so folks can tell it apart. The original game is set to be picked up from retailers starting next week.

Don't believe in computer generated picked numbers. I just think they are programmed to always show a profit. that is why the (all or nothing) game lost interest and was ended. Still lose a few dollars here and there because I am a Gambler and always ready to bet.

Well don’t play keno have lost 5000.00 straight won a few times 460. Like 2 times even 2 picks and 3 picks. They block winners other states are much better and allow winnings to occur they take money and don’t pay out. Been trying for 8 months 500 a day chasing and sometimes not any payouts! They pay 1 dollar tickets out from someone spending thousands!

I just saw a new $5 scratch off 20X launch on Aug 16, is this a continuous of the old one with new jackpots or an error. Are the tickets on the store new or the same? NC Lottery
