Big thrills served faster with Keno draw change

Keno players are getting their thrills served even faster. Starting today, the time between each Keno drawing goes from five minutes to four.

This means you have more chances to play. Instead of 249 drawings a day, there are now 311.

If you’re an early bird, the first Keno drawing is at 5:04 am. If you’re a night Owl, the last drawing is 1:44 am.

It’s still the fun and fast game you love, you just don’t have to wait as long to find out if you’re a winner.

@NC LOTTERY, sure, it doesn't 'look bad', but it's called 'reading between the lines', you know, a 'good man such as myself'. I picked up on it even if you did not. Just refer to past controversies, then 'read between the lines'. Ya know, he could've worded it a 'good Christian man's, which is what he was inferring. Like my father-in-law used to say, "If I'm lying, I'm dying."

@TIM M.: Hey Tim, Apologies, we must have misunderstood your original question. We thought you were asking about how to play Keno. Yes, right now only retailers with "social environments" have Keno. That could be a restaurant, a bowling alley, or even some convenience stores with seating. We have plans to expand that soon. As for your comment about being civil, yes, we want to keep this blog a place where everyone feels welcome to discuss with each other and ask us questions. We did ask you both to remember that a few weeks ago but did not feel that Denver's previous comment on this post was straying from that.

Hey Denver, what is it with the veiled insults or insinuations? Did not LZ say to be civil? Now please be a 'good man's and play ball. LOL. As for Keno, did you not read that I have NO experience? There are a few stores in my area that sell Keno. They're ALL convenience stores as far as I know. Even then it's not all convenience stores. It seems that they are REQUIRED to have seats, like in a restaurant, and serve 'hot foods', at least that's the impression I've been given. That's what I attempted to ask LZ but they basically recommended that I read the rules. Most stores in my area DON'T sell Keno because they don't seem to meet this ridiculous requirement. NC Lottery

hey Greg S. There are only 3 places that sell Keno in my zip code, none of them are bars. They are just conc. stores/gas stations that sell beer. ALL stores that sell lottery tickets sell beer. Now don't get me wrong I'll enjoy a burger & beer on occasion. The keno tickets are sold up front where all the other tics are sold. Do like most people do, buy your tics and go home. Tim said a few of the stores he goes to sell Keno. I'm sure he his a good man like yourself. This point is prolly mute with the possibility of keno being in more places. Tim what is your take on Greg's dilemma ?

When we're there be another 100,000 winner I haven't seen nobody win big since the couple in Raleigh NC Lottery
So far we have only had one top prize winner from Carolina Keno, but we hope to see lots more soon! We've got several exciting changes coming down the line for this game and we hope that soon it will be able to reach more of the folks who want to play, but couldn't find it near them.

Hi Barry I have hit 8 out of 9 before and I won 6000.00 cause I was playing a 2$ bet. I mostly play the top row numbers they have more chances of coming out n you have to look at how many times they actually play around the time they come out. That's my strategy I like to see people win instead of losing

I’ve played Keno since it came out. I’ve played the same 5 to 7 numbers 5x bet. To date I have never hit 7 when 20 numbers are drawn out of 80. Would you comment on just how random the numbers are? Thank you. NC Lottery

Hey @TIM M., We have a page on our website dedicated to explaining how to play Keno: https://nclottery.com/KenoHow. Essentially, you can pick how many numbers you want to play, how much you want to water, and what your numbers will be. Then, 20 numbers out of 80 will be selected as winning numbers every 4 minutes. How many you match will determine your prize up to $100,000. Right now, Keno is a social game meant to be played at locations where players can sit and watching the drawings occur. However, we will be expanding Keno to be available at lots more locations in the coming months! Hope this helps.

Changing the time to 4 minutes instead of 5 only generate more money for the lottery commission. I have spent more money on this game than I care to say, and has only won $50 at the most. I feel that changing the time between the drawings only warrants 1 thing more money for the commission.

I have no real experience with Keno. Please explain in layman's terms as simply as possible HOW you can win this much money every four minutes? When I go to stores that actually sell Keno, I see piles of discarded tickets, some as much as $20 with seeming rows of numbers. Other tickets if similar value have only a handful of numbers. What's up with this? Plus, why does the store have to sell hot foods with limited seating capacity or something. Remember, layman's terms. NC Lottery
