For the first time in history, Powerball and Mega Millions simultaneously have jackpots at $800 million or above, with the jackpots totaling $1.9 billion.

A Powerball winner tonight could take home the $800 million jackpot as an annuity or $384.8 million in cash. If won, the $800 million jackpot would represent the sixth largest in Powerball history.

A Mega Millions winner on Tuesday could take home the $1.1 billion jackpot as an annuity or $525.8 million in cash. If won, the $1.1 billion jackpot would represent the fifth largest in Mega Millions history.

“We saw a lot of nice wins for players on both Powerball and Mega Millions over the weekend,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “Let’s hope the good luck continues this week with a jackpot win in North Carolina. Good luck.”

While North Carolinians keep trying for the jackpot, other big wins occurred in both games recently. Four lucky tickets in North Carolina matched four white balls and the red Powerball in Saturday’s drawing to win $50,000. Two of the wins doubled to $100,000 when the 2X multiplier hit.

• A $3 ticket won $100,000 from Freddy Tobacco Mart on Raeford Road in Fayetteville
