Mega Millions and Powerball players in North Carolina can try their luck at two big jackpots this weekend that stand at over $1.2 billion combined.

A Mega Millions winner tonight would have the choice of taking home the $687 million jackpot as an annuity or $332.3 million in cash. If won, Friday’s $687 million jackpot would be the sixth largest in Mega Millions history.

A Powerball winner on Saturday would have the choice of taking home the $521 million jackpot as an annuity or $249.6 million in cash.

“Powerball and Mega Millions continue to grow at the same time and that has created a lot of excitement about the size of the jackpots,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We have seen lots of nice wins recently in both games. Hopefully, we will see even more this weekend.”

Even though the two jackpots remain up for grabs, players continue to win prizes playing Powerball and Mega Millions. Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing saw 30,217 total winning tickets while Wednesday’s Powerball drawing had 21,637.

Players can buy Mega Millions and Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
