February brings “Extreme” chances to win

We want to share the love with our players during the month of February, so we're giving you more chances to win. Here's what you could walk away with.

Extreme Millions Second-Chance drawing: We’re taking things to the ‘Extreme’ by giving you a chance to win $1 million! One lucky player will win $1 million, three players will win $50,000, and 25 players will win $500.
Lucke-Rewards Monthly Drawing: You can feel the love in February by entering our Romantic Riches drawing. Four players will win $10,000.

You have until Feb. 28 to enter both of these contests. The drawings are scheduled to take place Wednesday, March 6.

Lucke-Rewards Weekly Drawing: Each week, two players will win $100 in the Double Quick Cash drawing.
Carolina Hurricanes Prize Pack: If you’re a hockey fan, head over to our Facebook page for a chance to win a Carolina Hurricanes Prize Pack. Two lucky players will win two tickets to the Feb. 19 game to watch the Hurricanes take on the New York Rangers. Each winner will also receive a parking pass for the PNC arena, and a $20 PNC Arena gift card. To enter, all you have to do is comment on the post by Wednesday, Feb. 6

TO David M., you make a good point. Unfortunately LZ wasn't pickin up what you were putting down. What you suggest might be hard to do. They need to go back to the old way. Enter ONLY non winning tickets, hence the name "second chance" !!!!

Great suggestion, David. We highly encourage all of our players to enter their winning ticket before you cash it in so that you are in control of your points and second-chance entries.

Several people make a good point about the unfair advantage lottery retailers and their employees have. They can keep all the tickets that are turned in and scan them for points and second chances. Granted you can't get credit for a ticket twice. But no doubt many aren't submitted. Since the application knows if a ticket was already submitted there should be a way to flag an entry attempted by a different lucke rewards account.

It would be nice if the system would somehow send a notification, when your second chance tickets are entered and accepted! I entered 9 tix over the weekend, but I don't know if they are entered in the drawing or not.NC Lottery
Thanks for the feedback, Jonice. When you scan or enter a ticket that has a second-chance drawing, you should receive a pop-up immediately after you scan the ticket letting you know that you've been entered. Additionally, you can always check to see how many entries you have by visiting the "Draws" page!

Why is the Extreme Millions Scratch Off Tickets on pickup if the drawing ends this monthNC Lottery
Hi Kristin, It is lottery policy to end a game as soon as the last top prize is won. As soon as this happens, our team begins picking the tickets up from more than 7,000 retailers across the state. This process takes about six weeks and must be completed before the official end date of the game, in the case of Extreme Millions, March 1. This timeline also allows our players a little extra time to enter their tickets into the second-chance drawing before the entry period closes.

Hey there Michelle! To enter your tickets into the Extreme Millions second-chance drawing, all you need to do is click the "Collect" icon and scan or manually enter the ticket's barcode. That will collect Lucke-Rewards points from the ticket and it will also automatically enter you into the second-chance drawing for that ticket. You can check to see how many second-chance entries you have over on the "Draws" page. The process of entering the weekly Lucke-Rewards drawing is slightly different. After you have collected Lucke-Rewards points, you will need to choose which Lucke-Rewards drawings you would like to enter over on the "Promotions" page. There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit for a single drawing. But remember, having just one entry gives you a chance to win!

Carolyn b, look at all the games that are ending or have ended with massive amounts of winners left. They get the consumer to buy tickets based on the information they provide online as far as winnings remaining knowing they'll never go out in circulation. It's a question that's been asked regarding the accuracy of the odds of winning printed on tickets. They base the odds of winning on tickets that are printed that will never go out to the public. It's the biggest case of false advertisement/fraud known. Not one game has sold any where close to the number of tickets they say they print but continue to use this practice of lying to the public about their odds of winning. Some games ending have winnings in excess of 40 million. I've ask if the lottery officials would be okay buying there food products listing ingredients with the same accuracy as the lottery and they quit responding.

Nope. But you have to have an entry in a drawing, if you want a chance to win. So use those points when feel lucky.

A guy below claim that he can see the same people winning. Where on the site do we see who the winners are? Also if we do win how are we notified? NC Lottery
To see winners of Lucke-Rewards drawings, click on the Draws icon on your dashboard and use the filters to see the drawings you are interested in. The lottery also has a Winners page on its website for winners of scratch-offs and draw games and we announce big winners in our blog. Winners of Lucke-Rewards and second-chance drawings are contacted by email, then phone, and then certified letter.

Would love to be able to win Hurricane tickets package, but I REFUSE to have anything to do with Facebook or ANY of the social media platforms. Why couldn’t there be an alternate entry method? I’m sure I’m not a Lone Ranger with these thoughts. NC Lottery

I very much agree with Tony T and Merle regarding second chance entries. Some people have access to multiple tickets, thus getting many more chances to enter the second chance drawings and I see their names over and over again. Please consider changing the rules. Surely no one is actually buying $1000 per day, yet I bet these multiple winners are entering 1000 points or more daily (or in huge batches) in order to get a shot at winning, and it's working. Why not level the playing field by setting limits on entries? That seems much more fair to me! At least make us feel like we have a chance because they would not, for example, have 20 entries per day compared to our 5. Show us you appreciate our loyalty. Thanks!

Hey Merle, With our second-chance and Lucke-Rewards drawings, the more entries a player makes, the more chances they have to win. We don't know how many entries this player has had in each drawing, but it’s possible they made a lot of them. Our drawings are always observed by an auditor and conducted using specific security procedures to ensure the integrity of the outcome for all players.

Hey Tiffany, No, you do not have to be logged into your account as the drawing happens. Our team conducts the drawing on the scheduled draw day and then our prize validation team sends out notifications via email to the winners within 48 hours. As long as your contact information that is up to date, you are all set!

Sneak peek. If you click on draws, choose 2nd chance. Then unclick "my entries", and choose "all" from the drop down menu. You will see the 2019 Multiply The Cash Second Chance prizes are slightly different the current contest. A few more overall winners and a little more overall payout.

That's right, Denver! The new Multiply the Cash second-chance entry period will begin on Friday, so you have the opportunity to decide if you want to enter it today or keep it for the new second-chance promotion.

LZ, do you know that when entering the dream makeover tickets it shows at the top of the page that it's entered for the second chance drawing? When I go to look at " entry history" it doesn't show it there, only when actually entering the ticket. ( promo is over) Yes Angie F, there have been many REPEAT winners to the tune of 4,5 even up to 7 times. Not fair for us NON dumpster divers or retail employees that have access to SO MANY tickets where the points can be entered, without a limit, PER DRAWING. I think 1-200 points PER DAY/ PERSON/ DRAWING would be more fair for us ALL to have a chance at winning here, it'd give more incentive for us all to even try. Yeah, it only takes ONE entry to win...wonder how many here have done so though? NC Lottery
