New game lets lottery players have a ‘BIG SPIN’ for half a million dollars

Have you ever watched a game show and said to yourself, “I wish that could be me?” Well here’s your chance. This First Tuesday, we’re launching The BIG SPIN scratch-off ticket. It gives you the chance to win up to $500,000 and take part in a live event where you get to spin a big prize wheel.

Here’s how it works. Each $5 ticket gives you 16 chances to win. When you scratch the ticket, you can win either a cash prize or an online Spin Prize. If you win the Spin Prize head over to www.ncbigspin.com to spin the wheel. You’ll either win a cash prize or a BIG SPIN.

If you win a BIG SPIN, get excited. That means you head to a TV studio and take part in a live event. You'll get an overnight stay in Raleigh and $100 in spending money. When you arrive at the studio, a host and audience will cheer you on as you test your luck by spinning the prize wheel. You’ll take home at least $100,000, but could win $500,000.

The $5 ticket has eight BIG SPIN prizes. It also offers three $100,000 cash prizes. The odds of winning a BIG SPIN are 1 in 1.14 million. Overall odds of winning, including a breakeven prize, are 1 in 4.28.

Good luck, and be sure to get your triceps ready. You’re going to need them to spin the prize wheel!

If you read our blog or social media pages long enough, you'll see that over time wins come from all over the state. Anywhere there are more chances being taken to win—like in a big city—the odds will play out more often there over time. You'll have a larger volume of both winning and non-winning tickets in proportion with the odds. That has no effect on the likelihood of a particular ticket winning or not winning a prize, whether it be in a big city or a small town. It has to be that way in order for the lottery to be fair to everyone.

Big Spin is kind of corny. You have to get a SPIN to get the SPIN in order to get Raleigh and spin for thee prize. This is kinda like a correctional facilty LOL!! I may be wrong.. Zacahary H. If you get discouraged please take a serious break. It can get to you if you focus on wanting to win so badly. The secret to winning is when you dont care if you lose.

Guess I've had my big win on this game seeing as how I haven't won anything more since October 3/4. Seems like I only have one (or two) good hit(s) in early October, then that's it. Time to go back into hibernation til next October.....(I really like this game).

Like all the rest of NC Lottery games, they only benefit the lottery executives. When you spend thousands of dollars every year and only win $20 here $40 there, you know it’s rigged! All these “odds” of winning are a complete lie! I saw on here where a person bought a book of the new “spin” tickets, and only won $20.00. Since my first message, I've gone back and hit reload page, then the wheel come up, with the lights on outside edges moving, the arrow is on the 'Big Spin' but when I hit 'spin wheel' is does not move.

Yes tis very ez. You can click on the web site from here. Just click on games,scratchoffs, big spin. Then digital reveal.Put your code in, click continue then spin. Real fun when you already know the amount won and just want to mess with someone. I won 30 on my 1st tic and 20 on my 2nd. My wife hasn't caught on yet that I already knew. Cheers.

Fun game. I don't understand why some think this is so confusing. Very simple. Match your number to one of the winning numbers. Reveal your prize. Like ALL the other games. Sorry for the confusion, Keisha. If you match one of "your numbers" to a "winning number", then you win the dollar amount listed under the number -- just like our other scratch-off games. You only get the "SPIN" prize if the "SPIN" symbol is under one of your numbers that matches a winning number. If you reveal the "SPIN" but the number doesn't match any of your winning numbers, you haven't won that spin. Hope this helps!

Heads-up when playing the new Big Spin scatch-off... When you reveal a winning number with the Spin word... check your ticket on NC Lottery, because you won't know how much you won. And, if you use the NC Lottery app you have to manually enter the code on the ticket to find out how much you won. But, I look at this new game like this... what is the point to enter the code on the Big Spin, when I can just check my Big Spin ticket like all the rest of my tickets. It's not like NC Lottery is giving you a second change to win more money... or is it?....NC Lottery

Just to let you all know, went to two different stores and bought ten from each store. Here is what I got. One five dollar out of 50 dollars worth and 15 dollars out of 50 dollars worth. No free spin. Out of $100 worth I have concluded that this scratch off is b.s.

I have a suggestion. Maybe link up with different stores and also put cash on every ticket. Every ticket should be a winner no matter if you win $1.00 to $100,000, you could win a chicken dinner,tickets to a NBA game, hockey game, dozen of donuts, or maybe a gift card. This will make people buy more. At least when you buy a ticket you know that you won something. This will make everyone happy. Just a suggestion.

when i scratched, I not only had a winning # but also had a spin. Went to website, put in my code and it says I am a winner, but then nothing else. I went back to the store, they scanned it and said that they could only see the amount won on the face of the ticket and nothing more. Hi Tammy, getting a digital spin prize is not an either/or type of prize. If you enter your code online at ncbigspin.com that will show the prize value of the ticket. You'll only ever win an instant amount OR a "spin" that is revealed online. You can also always scan the bar code on your ticket to show the prize value as well.
